National City Public Library
Location: National City, CA
Scope: Design building identification, vehicular directional and parking lot signs, donor recognition wall, directories, interior directional signs, area identification signs, dedication plaque, ADA and Title 24 code signs.
About the Project: Brand new building with amazing architecture. Carrier Johnson Architects was looking for innovative sign designs to complement their newly designed public library in National City. Motivational Systems was awarded the project and I completed the designs.
Design Challenge: The librarian confessed that employees (self included) stick notices on everything...tape papers to doors, windows, etc. and truly wanted to stop this awful addiction, especially now that they would have a brand new building with contemporary design. The solution was adding message strips to the signs for easy posting, no mess, no tape, and a much cleaner look.
